McPete can help you realize your goals and complete your project.

McPete Drafting works directly with homeowners on a multitude of projects ranging from small remodels to $2+ million homes. We realize that the building process may be new to homeowners and thus we try to gently guide you thorough
all the steps required.

TYPICAL McPETE CLIENTS

Homeowner #1 acts as his/her own general
contractor—coordinating subcontractors,
ordering materials, providing the actual labor
themselves (sweat equity), and warrantying
their own job.

Homeowner #2 wants to develop house plans
independent of the contractor—avoiding the
design fee and without obligation to a
particular contractor.

STEP ONE
Free Consultation McPete Drafting will need to meet with you at no cost at either one of our offices or at your construction site to discuss your project goals. After the initial free consultation, we will provide you with an estimate of our fees and expected turnaround time for the construction plans (typically two to three weeks).
Referals McPete has active relationships with hundreds of contractors and will refer a company who matches your project's unique characteristics (basement, kitchen, large remodel, etc.) and your price, style and timeline requirements.

STEP TWO
Construction Plans Often times this set of documents is called blueprints, construction documents or construction plans.The construction plans will include all the necessary information for you to acquire a permit from your city or municipality and allow lumber yards to provide you a materials list and for any subcontractors you employ to bid and complete their portion of the project.

2-D or 3-D Format
Customers typically have trouble visualizing the house
when using a 2-dimensional plan.

When a plan is presented in a 3-D format,
you can see your house before the first nail is in place!
STEP THREE
Then we convert your ideas into accurate, clear and comprehensive construction documents for your builder.
Included in the Preliminary Design: front elevation • main floor plan • upper floor plan

Once a preliminary design is approved, McPete will complete the construction plans.
McPete typically provides a “builders set” which encompasses the following items:
• Completely noted and dimensioned foundation plan
• Completely noted and dimensioned floor plans and elevations
• Building cross-sections
